Install Tile Backsplash in Your Bathroom

Even when you have hired a professional do do tile work in your bathroom, you will still need to supervise his work to get a better output. However, in case you are on a DIY mission then following a proper routine will be best. Check the below mentioned points to install glass tile backsplash in your bathroom.

  • Clean the surface properly

You will need to clean the surface where you would be installing the tiles in a proper manner. If there is any dirt or dust on the surface then the adhesive will not stick to the surface, which will give a loose fitting to the tile.

  • Divide the surface into a grid

When you are installing glass tiles in your bathroom specially with tile backsplash it is better to divide the surface in different grids. This will give you a better idea about the placement of the glass tiles. With a proper grid, you will be able to create a beautiful look in your bathroom walls and floors.

  • Apply adhesive

Apply a proper layer of adhesive separately on each grid and one by one. If you have marked the grids with the help of pins then remove the pins before applying the adhesive as you will not be able to remove them later.

  • Place tiles as per grid mapping

Glass tiles for bathroom need to be placed according to the grid mapping created by you. If you do not follow the mapping details of the grid then the tiles will not be aligned in a proper manner.

  • Provide a clean finish with grout and spacers

Always ensure that you have placed grouts between the tiles to give it a smooth finish. It would also be good if you can use spacers to set the tiles in place. After the tiles are properly set clean the surface with sponge and light detergent water to remove any adhesive stains.
